Trigger finger in the hand

Trigger finger can occur in any of the flexor tendons of the hand. It is when the sheath of the tendons thicken due to inflammation and they lock in place or become stiff. Below is a great stretch to help loosen the tissue around the palmar fascia and the flexor tendons.

Place a heating pad on the palms of hands 15 minutes. Then stretch as shown 3 x 60 seconds every 2 hours.

This condition can occur commonly with diabetes, dupuytren’s (thickening of the palmar fascia commonly in the 4th and 5th digit in Caucasian people originating from northern Europe), carpal tunnel , and dequervains (pain and inflammation in the outer thumb region).
