The treatment options for an arthritic knee are: in order from conservative to less conservative

  1. Anti inflammatory medications if approved from your physician
  2. Physical therapy and exercises
  3. Cortisone shots
  4. Synvisc injection – rooster comb that can help increase the smoothness of the joint area
  5. Knee replacement

The exercises for knee arthritis will not fix the arthritis but help the knee function with more support and increased proteoglycans (a fluid that helps your joints). The pain can be relieved to some degree as well. They are listed below.

  1. Calf stretch

2. Sitting hamstring stretch

3. Straight leg raise

Use moderate resistance band, pull outwards 30 x , 2 sets, 5 x a week for 6 weeks
